We can’t give the NRA veto power over the Surgeon General
My blog about the NRA’s very powerful attempts to block the nomination of Dr. Vivek Murthy for the next Surgeon General of the US, based on his position that gun violence is a public health issue. The NRA has made it clear to all the politicians on its bankrolls that they must vote against the nomination, or expect to lose in the midterm elections. We can debate Dr. Murthy’s qualifications all we want, but we cannot succumb to this sort of bullying.
